Nainita Desai is a recent winner of the Music+Sound Award for Best Feature Film Score, a Women in Sync Awards 2016 Nominee, RTS Craft Award 2014 Nominee for Best Original Music and RTS Scotland Awards 2014.
Her musical foundations are rooted in documentary where she has forged an enviable reputation, working with leading film makers on hundreds of projects that have garnered OSCAR, BAFTA, EMMY awards and nominations, including Oscars, Emmys, Baftas, RTS (Best Music 2014 "The Day Kennedy Died"), and MUSIC + SOUND AWARDS 2016 win for Best Feature Film score for "The Confessions of Thomas Quick".
Nainita has recently completed scoring the Brian Hill Doc Musical "Mumbai High-The Musical" (BBC), and has worked with directors such as Werner Herzog, Bertolucci and Peter Gabriel amongst other well known artists.
Her current projects include the feature films The Reason I Jump (BFI / Met Films), 5 Years in Love and War (C4) by Emmy award winner Ed Watts, Darkness Visible (BFI) and WW2 drama Niihau.
Her latest projects include the features Untamed Romania, the most successful non-fiction film ever released in Romania that world premiered at Transylvania Film Festival 2018, The Life After (BBC / Irish Film Board) world premiering at Galway Intl Film Festival 2018, dramas Anemone (BBC Film | Film London), Exit Eve exec prod: Camille Gatin (The Girl With All the Gifts), and Interactive movie / video game Telling Lies for Annapurna Interactive (Phantom Thread) and multi-Bafta winning director Sam Barlow.
